been awhile...

So it's been awhile since I last posted some pictures of what I've been up to....Sara has been a little needy these past couple of weeks... needless to say a lot of time has been spend hanging out with her. It's never time wasted...

I have found some time while she naps to make these fun new shoes and burp cloths!
They were dropped off today at the cutest little shop around the corner. Uptown Country Home is one of my favorite "mommy's treat" stores out there. Filled with one-of-a-kind shabby chic decor, vintage finds, original artwork and sweet bedding, this store is definitely a must see if you are ever in the Dallas area!

I also had the pleasure to design these little guys. I made myself a wristlet a couple of weeks ago and find it so nice to be able to throw in the diaper bag. So I made a few to sell at Uptown Country as well.

Gotta love the tag!!
Have a happy Tuesday!

Gigi's in town....

My mom came in town Friday to spend the weekend with us. It is always a blessing to have her in my home. Here are a few sweet moments between her and Sara.

We had the opportunity to go to Canton today. We definitely plan to go back. There were so many treasures, we couldn't get to them all in one day. It was the perfect day... overcast, pleasant baby, vendors who were willing to bargain and a mom to share it with.

after hours of walking and wishing we had the room for all the pretty things we saw... notice the sleeping baby... she was so good!

the loot

we found the most gorgeous linens... tons of vintage pillowcases just wanting to be turned into pillowcase dresses for a certain little girl...

one of my favorites...mom bought it for me as a Valentine's happy...perfect huh?
have a happy day!

Many Firsts...

Sara had a huge day (one fulled with both excitement and emotions). One with many firsts.... first time she took a pacifier and actually sucked on it (although later when she needed pacifying she looked at it as though she had no clue what to do with it)... first time she raised up on both her hands and knees (resulting in scooting backwards underneath my china cabinet...so cute!)... and first time she ate rice cereal. She balanced all these new challenges out with fussiness during the down times. What a day!
Today was a first for me as well... first time I made a highchair pad. I like it...

Motherhood is a challenge but it's better than anything else I could ever be apart of. I'm grateful to be apart of Sara's life... even the tough days!

Hot dogs and Hearts

i thought you might need a smile today.... because HOT DOG it's FRIDAY!!!
look at the treat my great friend katherine mailed to sara this week.... it was quite hilarious! although sara was not so amused when we put it on her.... but i had to show you....

now for the "hearts" part of the post....
over the christmas holiday my mom reminded me of some sweatshirts we made when i was younger. we used christmas fabric to make little yo-yos and sewed them down in the shape of a wreath. this memory inspired my valentine's day design... yo-yos in the shape of a heart

also in the valentine's spirit that came over me this week i made this
paper topiary.

due the increase of time that is invested when making these onesies they will be priced as $20. But the shoes are only $15 a pair! ...want some?

have a great weekend!

my favorite...

...well one of them! The newest member of the family is named in honor of a good friend Larrah, which happens to rhyme with Sara (one of my other favorite shoes). This shoe has proven itself worthy of any baby girl's wardrobe. I can pair these up with so many of Sara's outfits because of it's many colors. She wears these at least 3 or more times a week!

Larrah

A complete set I made for a new sweetie!

I also wanted to show a different version of the Sara shoe. Instead of the pink button I added a pink gingham bow with a little white button.
What do you think? Girly huh?

Sara

As a side note...
Look at who's peeking over her bedding after a nap.

What a cutie!

it's nice to meet you

Here are the newest additions to the Boy's collection. In honor of our new friends in Dallas, I'm pleased to introduce you to the Silas and Jayden shoe.
Hope you like what you see.

Jayden
denim and light orange and blue stripe

Silas
red puppy dog print and navy gingham

Over the past week I have been getting back into the rhythm of our life. (pardon my absence) Ryan, Sara and I went on a two week cross-country trek to visit our family and friends. It was a great time of reconnecting and celebrating, but it has been good to be back in our own bed and our daily routine. Although, it wasn't fun coming home to a dead Christmas tree and decorations that were begging to be put away.
During our trip we had the opportunity to take part in NEXT, a conference in Atlanta that draws young people into community and connection with other generations while equipping them for the life God has for them. It was a time of great encouragement. I walked away with many "nuggets of truth." Thanks to all who participated and thanks to Matt and Lauren for all their hard work in making NEXT happen!
I'm too tired tonight to go any further....but I have another pair of shoes I need to introduce... so be watching...Thanks to all who have ordered! I appreciate it!

Happy New Year!

We are closing out our year on a long road trip.
Our trip began last Sunday and continued with one
car breaking down, one rental car and many stops
to nurse a sweet baby. Oh the adventure we are on!
We will continue our way to Atlanta later this week
and then finally home. It has been good to be surrounded
by our friends and family during this festive time.
I hope you all enjoy the end of this year and the beginning of the next!

I tried...

to stay away from a sewing machine for a week. But I couldn't. I visited my family in Alabama over the past week and really had a relaxing time. I even found an excuse to use my sister-in-law's sewing machine. STOCKINGS! thanks amy!

Tonight we have just been enjoying the holiday! Our Christmas tree brings such joy!

Jolly Holly!

It's Christmas time, although here in Texas the leaves are just now changing colors and many people are still sporting their flip-flops. It was bittersweet to put away the fall decorations and get out the Christmas stuff. It is hard to believe that this year is coming to an end.
Put your little one in this set and they are sure to inspire many to enjoy the wonderful season that's ahead (or should I say that's happening now). I hope your Christmas planning and shopping is relaxing and fun. Let me know if I can help in any way.

I have made many cute baby sets this week. I can't wait to share pictures but they are being given as gifts. Don't want to spoil the surprises. Check back soon for more pictures and gift ideas.

Hooray!

Hooray for good friends with good things to say about the shoes! I mailed my friends, Ava and Sophia Sartor, these shoes and shirts last week. I needed some older and more experienced "movers and shakers" to test out the slip-resistant soles on the 6-12 month shoe. They were the perfect product testers and so cute for the camera!
Lauren, their sweet mama, had good things to say about the soles:
"The girls tried out the shoes yesterday and they worked great. They seemed to be fine
for crawling or walking, and they never came off or caused slipping. Ava seemed to walk more in these shoes than I have seen her walk in anything else (pajamas or socks) at home. While Ava was standing on the hardwood floor, I tried to slide her foot a little and it seemed to hold pretty well (better than non-skid socks)."
Thank you Lauren for letting your girls be my guinea pigs and your sweet comments!
